Offbeat Presents: An Evening with Doc Rowe - 10th November 2025

"OffBeat is back at the Walthamstow Trades Hall for a very special event. On the 10th of November, we will be welcoming the folk archivist Doc Rowe to the stage. We're going to be talking to him about his life recording and documenting British folk traditions and sharing a small slice of the many thousands of hours of footage he has taken with us in Walthamstow. Doc has been making films about folk culture since 1964 and has amassed a vast and completely unique library of archive footage which we are very lucky to have been given access to. We've asked him to pick out some of his favourite films, clips and moments to make up his very own 'Desert Island Films'. We're very excited about this and can't wait to have him at OffBeat.
Doors are at 18:30 and the event will start around 19:30. Make sure you get there in good time to get some cheap pints and a pizza from Yard Sale (20% off, of course). The evening will end at around 21:30 including an intermission".
