From Morris dancing to the Notting Hill Carnival, broadcaster and writer Zakia Sewell explores folk rituals, myths and traditions throughout the British isles. Uncovering a Britain beyond familiar ancient stories and polarising symbols an alternative national story is revealed – one rooted in older customs, folklore, and forgotten traditions, and alive with the possibility of connection, understanding, and a more inclusive sense of identity. ‘I’ve been waiting for a book like this.’ Florence Welch Zakia Sewell will be taking to author & English teacher Michael Donkor.
