President's Prizes for student work 2026

The Folklore Society's Presidents prizes are intended to encourage the academic study of folklore and folkloristics in universities and other institutions of higher and further education in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

There are two prizes: 

-One for outstanding undergraduate work in folklore and folkloristics. The prize will take the form of a certificate of merit issued by the Folklore Society, and £250.

-One for outstanding post-graduate work in folklore and folkloristics. The prize will take the form of a certificate of merit issued by the Folklore Society, and £300.

The prize is open to all students who are registered for or have completed in the year of the award, full-time or part-time study on a relevant undergraduate (or equivalent Levels 4, 5, 6) or post-graduate (or equivalent Levels 7, 8) course at a university or other institution of higher or further education in the UK or Republic of Ireland.

Closing date for entries is 30th September 2026.
