New issue of Folklore now out!
The latest issue of the Folklore--our peer-reviewed international journal of folklore and folkloristics--is now out.
Copies of the third issue of 2026 (volume 137, issue 3) are currently being sent to subscribers and the contents of the issue are also available online (through the website of Taylor & Francis, the journal's publisher): Folklore | Journal | Taylor & Francis Online
The issue features new research articles on such varied topics as Irish wakes and funerals, witchcraft beliefs in nineteenth-century Suffolk, sacred healing traditions in the folk traditions of Georgia, and a traditional whistling language from one of the Canary Islands. Its review section features recent non-fiction and fiction titles relating to folklore. The issue also includes an obituary for Rosan A. Jordan, a pioneer of women's folklore scholarship.
