How to Join, What you Get

Membership of the Folklore Society is by subscription to our prestigious journal Folklore, which is published for the Society by Taylor and Francis.

Frequency: Folklore is published in three issues per year.

Benefits of Personal Membership

In addition to Folklore, personal members also receive:

• FLS News, currently published three times per year.
• Online access to JStor's electronic archive of back issues of Folklore from 1878 to the latest five years (available one month after joining)
• Invitations to Folklore Society events and conferences, some free, others at reduced rates
• Preferential rates for FLS Books and other Folklore Society publications.
• Access to the Society's information service and Library, which is stored at University College London

Individual Membership: £45 / US $81

Household Membership: £50 / US $90
(Two members of the same household receive all the other benefits of membership if they share a copy of Folklore)

Reduced Membership: £28 / US $40.50
(Students, Pensioners and Unwaged. Proof of status required)

Note to New Members/Returning Lapsed Members

When sending your first subscription (or a renewal after a break), please specify whether your subscription is for the current year's Folklore, or an advance payment for the following year.

The subscription year runs from January to December, and subscription renewal notices are sent out in the autumn for the following year.
